Navajo Indian weavers were often inspired by letters seen on everyday objects, like GMC on the grill of a truck.
It was no coincidence that Fred Nelson, owner of a trading post in Seligman, Arizona, had such a truck!
All handspun native wool in natural colors and a softly dyed red are nicely woven, 25 1/2" by 60".
Note the neat whirling fret border.
Very good original condition, circa 1960s.
